A valid REP is necessary whenever a permanent resident (PR) travels out of Singapore. The REP allows you to retain your permanent residence status while away from Singapore. If you leave Singapore or remain overseas without a valid REP, you will lose your permanent residence status.  You will be assessed for entry into Singapore as a foreign visitor, subject to prevailing entry requirements.

Hong Kong New Capital Investment Entrant Scheme (New CIES)

The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region Government relaunched the New Capital Investment Entrant Scheme (New CIES) in 2024, offering a flexible and convenient residency pathway for high-net-worth individuals worldwide. Under this scheme, applicants may obtain the right to reside in Hong Kong by investing in eligible assets, with the option to eventually apply for permanent residency. Compared to its previous versions, the 2024 scheme sets a minimum investment threshold of HKD 30 million. Applicants may allocate the majority of their investment to financial assets, real estate, or approved funds, with a mandatory HKD 3 million contribution to a designated Innovation and Technology investment portfolio. This program is particularly suitable for entrepreneurs and their families who wish to secure Hong Kong residency without the need for long-term physical presence or employment in the region.

Our team has extensive experience managing capital investment schemes and provides end-to-end support across all stages of the application, investment, immigration, and residency transition process. We assist clients in engaging qualified Hong Kong auditors to verify asset holdings and ensure that investment portfolios meet all legal and regulatory requirements. Working closely with the Hong Kong Immigration Department, we facilitate application submissions and guide clients through each milestone, from initial approval to final investment execution and identity documentation. Following successful approval, we continue to support clients with visa renewals, permanent residency applications, as well as tax advisory, education consultation, and wealth structuring services—helping them establish a comprehensive and well-integrated presence in Hong Kong.
